Maria Karvounidou lives in Stavanger (Norway). She is a film and theatre director originally from Greece and she is a member of the Greek Directors Guild. She studied: acting (for theater and the camera), directing for the cinema and editing. Since 2000 she has been making contemporary theater in Athens. She wrote seven theatrical plays and three screenplays. She directed several performances for the theatrical scene of Athens, one feature film and two short films.
She organized acting workshops for children and grownups and she particularly involved herself with the theater for groups of social exclusion.
